A statement from the whiskey maker notes that they are building on the success of the inaugural 10-year-old straight bourbon release, which garnered Double Gold at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

In fact, each expression of The Decade Series features a 10-year aged whiskey that honors the barrel aging process and how those 10 years bring out the smoothness and nuances of the spirit.

The distiller’s notes show that the Decade Series II Straight Rye Whiskey has a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. It brings bold and spicy flavors, balanced by notes of vanilla and caramel from the barrel.

Alex Moore, master blender for Heaven’s Door, said they worked with dozens of carefully selected 10-year-aged whiskeys to arrive at a blend that is rich, full-bodied and has a distinctive flavor profile.

“With a deep amber hue from over a decade in the barrel, Decade Series II delivers a complex tasting experience with an array of flavors,” he said. “Which culminates in a long and lingering finish. We’re thrilled with this exceptional straight rye as our second release in our Decade Series collection.”
