By participating in The Whiskey Wash weekly prize draw (the “Promotion”), you agree to the following terms and conditions. This free prize draw is intended to encourage community engagement on our website. Please read these terms carefully before entering.
1. Promoter & Organizer
The Promotion is organized by Mark Littler LTD, trading as The Whiskey Wash (the “Promoter”). Mark Littler LTD is a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 11174184), with its registered office at Riverside, Mountbatten Way, Congleton, Cheshire, CW12 1DY, United Kingdom.

2. Eligibility
Age: The Promotion is open to individuals aged 18 or over at the time of entry. If the legal drinking age in your jurisdiction is higher than 18 (for example, 21 in the USA), you must meet the legal drinking age requirement in your country/state. Winners will be required to prove age (see Section 7).
Geographic Restrictions: The Promotion is open worldwide, except where prohibited or restricted by law. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that participating in a free prize draw is legal in their jurisdiction. The Promoter reserves the right to void any entries or awards that violate local laws or regulations.
Exclusions: Employees of Mark Littler LTD, The Whiskey Wash, their immediate family members, and any persons professionally connected to this Promotion are not eligible to enter.
One Entry Per Person: Multiple comments are allowed for discussion purposes, but each person is limited to one entry per weekly draw. Posting more than one comment in a week will not increase your chances of winning. The Promoter may disqualify entrants suspected of using multiple accounts or otherwise attempting to obtain more than one entry per week.
3. How to Enter (No Purchase Necessary)
Entry Method: To enter the weekly prize draw, simply leave a comment on any article or post on The Whiskey Wash website during the respective week. All comments posted on the site within the Entry Period (defined below) will be automatically entered into that week’s draw.
Free Entry: No purchase is required to enter. Accessing and commenting on The Whiskey Wash site is free (standard internet connection fees may apply, but there are no additional charges to participate). This Promotion is a free prize draw, not a lottery or gambling.
Entry Period: Each weekly Promotion begins immediately after the previous week’s draw and ends at 11:59 PM (23:59) UK time every Thursday. For example, comments posted from Friday through Thursday 11:59 PM (GMT/BST) will be included in that week’s draw. Entries received after the weekly cutoff will roll into the next week’s draw.
Comment Requirements: Comments must comply with our site guidelines (e.g., no spam, offensive language, or illegal content). The Promoter reserves the right to remove or disqualify comments (and thus entries) that violate our standards or these terms. Legitimate discussion and engagement are encouraged; however, automated comments or obvious spam will be disqualified.
Confirmation of Entry: There is no separate confirmation for entry. If your comment is successfully posted on The Whiskey Wash website during the Entry Period and meets the above criteria, you are entered into that week’s draw.
4. Prize
Weekly Prize: Each week, one (1) winner will receive a gift card or voucher worth £25 (twenty-five British Pounds) or $25 (twenty-five US Dollars). The currency and type of gift card will depend on the winner’s location and preference (for example, a local whisky/liquor store, an online spirits retailer, or an equivalent general gift voucher usable for whisky/liquor purchases). The Promoter will work with the winner to determine a suitable retailer for the gift card, subject to availability.
No Cash Alternative: The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered. The gift card cannot be exchanged for cash or any other form of credit.
Substitution: In the unlikely event that a specified gift card to the winner’s chosen retailer cannot be obtained (for example, if a retailer does not offer gift vouchers or there are regional restrictions), the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with a gift card of equal value at a similar retailer or an international retailer (e.g., a major online spirits retailer or e-commerce platform). The value of the prize will remain approximately £25 or $25 in such cases.
Multiple Prizes: This is an ongoing weekly draw. Entrants are eligible to win at most one prize per person within any 3-month period to allow a variety of winners. If an entrant who has won in the last 3 months is drawn again, the Promoter reserves the right to redraw for another winner. (This does not disqualify previous winners from commenting; it only limits prize eligibility in consecutive draws.)
Taxes and Duties: The prize is given as a gift. Any tax liability or duty that may arise from winning the prize (if applicable in the winner’s jurisdiction) is the sole responsibility of the winner. For most winners, a £25/$25 prize will not trigger any tax obligation, but entrants should consult local regulations if uncertain.
5. Winner Selection
Random Draw: The winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries (comments) received during the weekly Entry Period. The selection will be made by a random process (such as a random number generator or lottery drawing method) under the supervision of the Promoter. Each eligible entry has an equal chance of winning.
Draw Schedule: Weekly draws will typically take place on Friday of each week. The Promoter aims to conduct the draw and determine the winner on Friday morning (UK time) following the close of the Entry Period (Thursday 11:59 PM). In case of any delays or operational issues, the draw will be held as soon as reasonably possible thereafter.
Promoter’s Decision: The Promoter’s determination of the winner is final and binding. No correspondence or appeals regarding the outcome of the draw will be entered into.
No Fees: There is no fee to claim the prize and entrants will never be asked to pay any fee or purchase anything as a condition of winning. If you receive any communication asking for payment for prize delivery, it is fraudulent and not from the Promoter.
6. Winner Notification & Claiming the Prize
Notification Method: The weekly winner will be notified within 7 days of the draw. We will attempt to notify the winner via reply to the winning comment on The Whiskey Wash website, and/or via email if an email address is available to us (for example, if provided when commenting or through the user’s site account). The notification will include instructions on how to claim the prize.
Announcement: At the Promoter’s discretion, the winner’s username or display name (as provided in the comment) may also be announced on The Whiskey Wash website or social media after the winner has been notified. This will typically be done in a manner such as replying to the comment thread with an announcement (e.g., “Congrats to [Username], this week’s winner!”). By entering, you consent to this minimal publicity announcement. We will not publish personal details such as full name or contact information without additional consent.
Response Time: The winner must respond within 14 days of the initial notification. The response should include acknowledgment of winning and coordination with the Promoter to arrange prize delivery. If the winner does not respond within 14 days, or if the winner is unreachable (e.g., invalid email and no response via comment), the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that winner and select an alternate winner at random from the remaining eligible entries.
Claiming the Prize: Once contact is established, the winner will be given instructions to claim their gift card. The prize can typically be delivered electronically (via email or online code). In some cases, a physical gift card may be mailed to the winner. The method will be decided in consultation with the winner to ensure a convenient delivery.
Identification Requirement: Before receiving the prize, the winner must provide valid identification to verify age and identity. Acceptable forms of ID include a driver’s license, passport, or other government-issued photo ID that shows your name and date of birth. The name on the ID must reasonably match the identity of the entrant (for example, if the comment was under a username, we may ask for proof of ownership of that account or the email associated with it). This ID check is solely to ensure compliance with age restrictions and fairness. The winner may send a scan or photo of the ID through a secure method as instructed by the Promoter.
Verification: The Promoter will verify the winner’s eligibility (age, etc.) upon receiving the ID. We reserve the right to withhold the prize until identity and age have been confirmed. If the winner is found to be ineligible or fails to provide adequate proof of eligibility within a reasonable time (e.g. 14 days from request), they will forfeit the prize and an alternate winner will be drawn.
Prize Delivery: After verification, the Promoter will coordinate the purchase and delivery of the gift card. Please allow up to 14 days after verification for the delivery of the prize. In most cases, an electronic gift code can be sent via email promptly once verified. If a physical card is requested or required, shipping times may vary by destination. The Promoter will cover any standard postage or electronic delivery fees. There will be no charge to the winner for delivering the prize.
7. Data Protection and Privacy
Personal Data Collected: Entrants are not required to submit any personal data to enter beyond what is necessary to post a comment (which may include a name/username and email address). The winner will be asked to provide additional personal information solely for the purpose of prize fulfillment and verification (e.g., full name, age verification, email address, and a mailing address if a physical prize is sent).

Void Where Prohibited: The Promotion is void in any country, state, or jurisdiction where it would be prohibited by law or where registration or bonding would be required that has not been obtained. By entering, participants confirm that they are not breaching any laws in their country of residence regarding the legality of entering this free prize draw.

In particular, it is not sponsored by or affiliated with any specific whisky or liquor brand, retailer, or gift card issuer. Any trademarks or brand names used in connection with describing the prize are the property of their respective owners and are used only for prize description purposes. Those companies have no involvement in this giveaway.
Decency and Fair Play: Participants must enter in good faith. Any attempt to manipulate the contest (such as using bots, fake identities, multiple accounts, or any fraudulent behavior) will result in disqualification. Similarly, any comments that violate our community standards (hateful, obscene, extremely off-topic spam, etc.) may be removed and will not count as entries. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who is found to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Promotion, or violating these terms.
Technical Issues: The Promoter is not responsible for technical problems or human error that may result in an entry not being received or being lost or removed. This includes (but is not limited to) issues like website downtime, internet connectivity problems, or errors in third-party platforms. Proof of commenting is not automatically proof of entry; an entry is only valid if actually received by our systems before the deadline.
Right to Cancel or Amend: The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Promotion at any time if circumstances arise outside of our control that make it necessary to do so. This might include (for example) technical failures, hacking attempts, epidemics, natural disasters, or any development that impairs the fairness or integrity of the contest. If any such action is taken, we will post a notice on The Whiskey Wash website. The Promoter also reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions if legally required or for clarity, without materially affecting the terms of entry. Any changes to the terms will be posted on the same page as these Terms & Conditions.
Limitation of Liability: By entering, participants agree that the Promoter, its parent company, affiliates, and employees shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury (to the extent permitted by law) that might occur as a result of your participation in the Promotion or acceptance of the prize. The Promoter’s only obligations are to administer the draw fairly and award the prizes in accordance with these terms. Once the prize is dispatched to the winner, the Promoter is not responsible for any issues arising from the use or redemption of the gift card (for example, if the retailer goes out of business or if there are terms on the gift card itself the winner must abide by). This does not exclude or limit any liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraudulent misrepresentation.
No Waiver: The Promoter’s failure to enforce any term of these Terms & Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is deemed invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be severed, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Final Decision: All decisions of the Promoter in relation to the Promotion (including but not limited to the validity of entries, the selection of winners, and the interpretation of these Terms & Conditions) are final. No correspondence will be entered into regarding these decisions, other than with the winner as necessary for prize administration.
9. Governing Law & Disputes
Governing Law: This Promotion and these Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. This means that the rules of the contest comply with UK law, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with the Promotion will be subject to the laws of England and Wales.
Jurisdiction: Participants agree that any disputes or issues that cannot be resolved amicably will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. (If you are a consumer residing outside of the UK, you may also have rights to bring an action in your local courts under local consumer protection laws; these terms do not limit any such rights where applicable.)
Legal Compliance: Entrants are responsible for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations of their country of residence when participating. By entering, you warrant that your participation is lawful and does not violate any local laws. The Promoter shall not be liable if an entrant is disqualified by virtue of law.
10. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting a comment and entering this Promotion, you indicate your full and unconditional agreement to abide by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not participate. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry or disqualify anyone in breach of these terms.
