Idaho’s Grand Teton Distillery Plans Expansion, Increased Capacity

Grand Teton Distillery out of Idaho recently announced its plans to open a new tasting room next to its distillery this winter. This is in addition to plans for increased production capacity. 

Construction on the 8000 square foot project has already started and is slated to include a 2000 square foot tasting room, an area for more production equipment and storage for the distillery. The building will give Grand Teton Distillery the ability to expand its production capacity to 50,000 nine liter cases annually in the coming years. 

The distillery opened nearly a decade ago, and this project would serve as the distillery’s second expansion. 

“We’re excited to create a space that will finally be able to accommodate more guests. We’ve outgrown both our warehouse and tasting room,” says Andrew Boczar, Vice President of Grand Teton Distillery, in a prepared statement. “As we enter our tenth year, we’re delighted to be able to welcome even more of the community along with tour buses — and we’re looking forward to increasing production at the same time.”

The new tasting room will accommodate up to 50 guests, allowing the distillery to further offer complimentary tastings of its award-winning spirits like its vodkas, whiskeys and bourbons. Those interested in touring the property can make appointments as well. There will also be a gift shop where spirits and merchandise will be available. 

The Idaho-based distillery said they applied for a grant to install solar panels on its south-facing roof. Additionally, high volatility alcohol ‘heads,’ or the vapors that boil off during the distillation process, will be collected and used to provide heat to the tasting room.

After its initial opening, the distillery’s tasting room will be able to accommodate more people in the summer of 2022.
