In yet another newsworthy bicentenary event for The Macallan, the luxury Speyside distillery has partnered with The Balmoral Hotel Edinburgh to offer an exclusive £100,000 whisky experience centred around The Macallan Horizon.
The Balmoral, one of Edinburgh’s most luxurious hotels, has procured a bottle of The Macallan Horizon, the recent luxury collaboration between The Macallan and Bentley Motors. In celebration of this procurement, the hotel will host the ‘Horizon Whisky Experience’ for one lucky whisky fan.
According to the official press release, the experience will include: “becoming the proud owner of the world’s first horizontal whisky bottle, a personalised membership to the hotel’s exclusive SCOTCH Club, a two-night stay in The Balmoral’s enchanting presidential suite the Scone & Crombie, and an incredible private tour and overnight stay at The Macallan Estate.”
The Macallan Horizon Whisky Experience
The experience will begin with a stay in the Scone & Crombie suite at The Balmoral Hotel, named after Scone Palace in Perthshire and Crombie Castle in Aberdeenshire. Then, a visit to the SCOTCH bar, in which The Macallan Horizon is displayed. The bottle will be housed securely in a personally engraved whisky keep inside the bar. Guests will then be offered a taste of the fine and rare whisky, or can choose to save it for a later date.
SCOTCH Club membership, included in the experience, ensures that each trip to the bar is luxurious and memorable with the bar’s Whisky Ambassador offering a whisky concierge service.
Following the overnight stay, the guests will travel to The Macallan Estate for a private tour chauffeur-driven tour of the estate, a tour around the distillery, tasting sessions, and a dining experience with wine and whisky pairings.
Returning to The Balmoral Hotel, guests will enjoy a seven-course meal at Number One, the hotel’s exclusive restaurant. Then, a final night of comfort in the Scone & Crombie suite.
