The distiller’s notes explain that the Solist French Wine Cask is aged in a red wine cask from a French winery with notes of subtropical fruits, cocoa, and tannins.

On the nose, the plum-colored single malt has aromas of pomegranate, honey, and deep tannins, with hints of sweet melon, guava, and apple.

The palate features vanilla sweetness and subtle saltiness with fig and plum notes. It has a long and fresh finish, balanced with the taste of lingering melon syrup.

The latest Shanghai boutique store opened at the Shanghai Suhe Centre Green Park complex on Oct. 13th. Also, in Shanghai, a new concept store was developed within the “Tian An 1000 Trees,” designed in collaboration with Tian An Group and British designer Thomas Heatherwick.

Copper and wood design in the new concept store takes inspiration from whisky oak casks and copper stills. The green backdrop represents the fertile Lanyang Plain, the home of Kavalan in Yilan County. The distillery’s water source, the Snow Mountain range, is silhouetted on the counter and walls.

In Taiwan, there are nearly 50 stores including the Kavalan Bar & Shop inside Taiwan’s landmark building “Taipei 101.” Opened in August of 2021, it offers Kavalan’s complete spirits range alongside whisky flights and cocktails. The very first Kavalan Store opened in Taipei City in March of 2009.

Kavalan Distillery in Yilan County, ages its whisky in intense humidity and heat, sources the meltwaters of Snow Mountain, and is enhanced by sea and mountain breezes.
