Speyside’s Tamdhu Distillery Launches Latest Batch Strength Whisky

Tamdhu Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky recently announced the latest edition to its Batch Strength series, Batch Strength No. 007.

This latest expression comes non-chill filtered and has a natural copper hue thanks to a full maturation in Oloroso sherry seasoned casks from Jerez, Spain. The single malt clocks in at 57.5% ABV.

In the distiller’s notes, Batch Strength 007 is described as having a subtle waft of vanilla cake, followed by spicy cinnamon and roasted praline. The thick mouthfeel has a palate of pavlova filled with raspberries. And a drop of water brings out caramel apricots with oak spice, and a lemon punch.

The lingering finish of warm oak spices give way to baked figs and sherry flavors, followed by fresh clementine.

In a prepared statement, Sandy McIntyre, Tamdhu’s distillery manager, said that Batch Strength No. 007 is “a testament to our dedication to exclusively sherry matured whisky, with its deep copper color and complex profile. Each Oloroso cask is meticulously hand-crafted, delivering an exquisite, nuanced flavor and a long, satisfying finish.”

Tamdhu Batch Strength No. 007 is now available on the distillery’s web site or from specialist retailers globally for a suggested retail price of £80.99 per 70cl bottle.
