New Isle Of Arran Scotch Bottling Chosen By Fan Club

Arran Malt White Stag First EditionScotland’s Isle of Arran distillery, like many others in its market segment, maintains an official fan club to keep connected with its most regular supporters. Known as the White Stag, this particular fan base is about to be rewarded for its loyalty by having access to a special limited whisky picked by a panel of their peers.

Known The Arran Malt White Stag First Release, it is an 18 year old expression drawn from a single cask, specifically Sherry Hogshead 97/737. It was chosen by a 10 member panel of White Stag fans this past January in Glasgow, Scotland, where they gathered without input from the distillery team to make their selection from among five cask samples.

Only 214 bottles will be released worldwide through the White Stag website on June 15 at a price of £95 (around $145 USD). Tasting notes for this Scotch are below.

A warm and buttery nose with a subtle pear note, nuances of vanilla, marzipan and apricots lead to a smooth palate of chocolate mousse and toasted marshmallows. With a deep finish of chilli and dark chocolate, this complex dram enjoys the Arran hallmarks of citrus and honey making for a strong and rounded experience enhanced by few drops of water.

Cask Fraud Addressed in Scottish Parliament

The potential impacts of cask investment fraud on the scotch whisky industry was discussed in the Scottish Parliament in April 2024, hopefully paving the way for more regulation within the industry.
