Johnnie Walker Blue Label Adds Singapore Girl Theme

Johnnie Walker Blue Label Singapore EditionOne thing the Johnnie Walker Blue Label blended Scotch whisky seems to be known for is creating regional or specialized bottlings which, while having the same juice in them across the board, have etchings on them reflective of specific themes. Among the latest in this regard is a release in partnership with Singapore Airlines.

The new Johnnie Walker Blue Label The Casks Edition is said to contain a 55.8% ABV whisky drawn from some of Johnnie Walker’s rarest casks. The bottle’s intricate external design, according to those behind it, draws inspiration

from the Singapore Girl’s distinctive sarong kebaya uniform, designed by French couturier Pierre Balmain in 1968. The design has become synonymous with luxury, heritage and excellence and now adorns the Johnnie Walker Blue Label bottle. The bottle is a rich shade of lapis lazuli and prominently features the airline’s signature silver batik print.

Only 2,000 bottles are being made available through this release, all of which you can only purchase through the airline for around $270. Limited official tasting notes are below.

The blended Scotch whisky has deep, smoky notes, with traces of spice and a lingering oak finish.
