Diageo is a giant in the world of Scotch whisky. Each year, the Scotch leader does a sort of “best picks” series from its various stocks with the Special Releases collection. The 2018 version of this crop has now been announced.
The Diageo 2018 Special Releases Collection, according to those behind it, are limited edition, natural cask strength bottlings drawn from classic, lesser known and often closed distilleries that are part of its stable of whisky making properties. You’ll find details on nine of the ten releases below – information on the last will be revealed later on in the year.
“The Special Releases launch is a highlight in our whisky calendar year,” said Donald Colville, Diageo’s Global Malts Ambassador, in a prepared statement. “It’s a collection that allows both knowledgeable whisky fans and those new to Scotch to hunt out truly unique limited editions. The range delivers memorable taste experiences unlike any other and the exceptional variety and quality of whiskies in this year’s collection will not disappoint.”
