Chivas Made For Gentlemen Scotch Has Slick Packaging

The Chivas Brothers whisky division of Pernod Ricard, while keeping busy with an interesting new project in their Royal Salute line, has also unveiled “an exclusive series of three collectibles designed with the stylish modern traveller in mind” that focuses around its Chivas Regal bottlings. Chivas teamed with British luxury brand Globe-Trotter on these offerings, which range in price from a rather inexpensive mass release to a unique product costing over $18,000.

Chivas Made for Gentlemen

Chivas, in these Chivas Made for Gentlemen expressions, aimed to craft some unique packaging elements which are worth a lot more dollar value wise compared to the 12 year old whisky contained within. Here’s how the three cases – a limited edition gift tin, 20-inch carry on case and made on request steamer trunk – are described by the whisky brand:

The design of the tin was inspired by the tradition of applying stickers onto one’s luggage to proudly showcase destinations visited and celebrate some of the world’s most iconic destinations.

The 20 inch trolley case features a customised lining that elegantly intertwines a never-seen-before Globe-Trotter archive design with Chivas’ iconic signifier. The sturdy burgundy vulcanised fibreboard case also features wooden handles, brushed brass hardware and an internal leather plaque.

Made on request, the Chivas 12 Made for Gentlemen by Globe-Trotter steamer trunk is a modern reinterpretation of a timeless classic. Featuring the bespoke burgundy fibreboard, American white oak from oak casks and a hand engraved copper plaque made from a retired Scotch whisky stills, the steamer trunk also comes with specially created compartments for shoes, a drawer to hold up to nine watches, oak hangers to hold pristine suits and a beautifully crafted mini bar with mirrored back.

Chivas Made for GentlemenAs for pricing and availability, the tin will drop at travel retail outlets for $40 USD, while the carry on case will come in at around $1,500 USD at Globe-Trotter retail outlets. The steamer trunk, meanwhile, will be on sale at Globe-Trotter’s flagship store in London for around $18,700 USD, with all proceeds said to be donated to The Prince’s Trust charity.

You can watch a short video below detailing a bit of the creative process behind this unique packaging.

“Chivas and Globe-Trotter form a natural partnership as two luxury British brands,” said Richard Black, Chivas Regal Global Brand Director, in a statement. “We are very proud to introduce the fourth Made for Gentlemen partnership and we believe the synergies in our values and expert craftsmanship has resulted in this fine collection of limited editions that we hope will inspire adventurous travellers and spirits connoisseurs around the world.”
