Bowmore Debuts Second Edition Of Devil's Casks Whisky

bowmore-dc2The fine folks at Bowmore, known as the Scottish isle of Islay’s first distillery, recently unveiled the second release of the very popular and limited edition Devil’s Casks series. Aged exclusively in first fill sherry casks, it is a tough one to find that you’ll likely want a bottle or two of should you come across it at retail globally.

For Devil’s Casks II Bowmore said this 10-year-old whisky gets its name “from a legend nearly as old as the distillery itself. It was claimed that the Devil was once spotted and chased through the town, eventually hiding away in the distillery. After searching, the Devil was nowhere to be seen, having made his escape in a whisky barrel. ”

Bottled at 56.3% ABV, only 90 cases of it reportedly were released at a price of around nearly $100 a bottle. Tasting notes for this deep mahogany colored Scotch are below per the distillery.
