Uisce Beatha Real Irish Whiskey Brings Its Blend To America

ROK Stars Uisce Beatha Real Irish WhiskeyNow and again a whisky from overseas creeps onto American shores that doesn’t reveal a lot about itself but which seems to hold some potentials for greatness. Could this be the case with the recently unveiled Uisce Beatha Real Irish Whiskey now beginning to appear in select states? If the results of a recent spirits competition have anything to say about it, this could be a sleeper of a hit for some who enjoy this whisky style.

The Uisce Beatha Real Irish Whiskey, now being pushed in Illinois, New York, California, Texas, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, Kentucky, and Tennessee, with a nationwide roll-out thereafter, took gold earlier this year at the International Craft Spirits Competition held in Los Angeles. It is being offered domestically by ROK Drinks, co-founded by John Paul DeJoria of Patron Tequila fame.

This whisky, who’s name draws from he ancient Gaelic “Uisce Beatha,” meaning “Water of Life,” is a curious little offering. It is a non-age statement release, bottled at 80 proof and described as “a blend of single malt and grain whiskies, which have been matured for at least four years in ex-Bourbon oak casks to deliver a soft, subtle, and delicately sweet flavor.”

There’s no mention of which Irish distilleries this release draws from for its blend.
