Ireland’s Teeling Single Malt Whiskey Drops In US

Teeling Single Malt WhiskeyIreland’s Teeling Whiskey Company, looking to expand its American Irish whiskey footprint, is releasing into domestic retail another one of its bottlings which is already available overseas. Known simply as Teeling Single Malt, this premium expression recently garnered a respectable 82 in a review we did of it.

The Teeling Single Malt whiskey, according to the distillery, is a non-age statement offering which consists of aged malt whiskey up to 23 years old that has been matured in five different wine casks, including sherry, port, Madeira, White Burgundy and cabernet sauvignon.

“We are delighted to be able to release another expression of Teeling whiskey that helps expand consumer choice and challenge existing perceptions of Irish whiskey,” said Jack Teeling of Teeling Whiskey Company in a statement. “Our new Teeling Single Malt proves Irish whiskey can have big bold flavors that appeal to Single Malt drinkers without losing its distinctive Irish identity.”

Bottled at 46% ABV, this single malt is available at retail domestically for around $65 a bottle. More in-depth tasting notes for it are below, courtesy of Teeling. You can shop around online for a bottle of it here.

Nose: Vibrant with notes of melon, figs, toffee and lemon
Taste: A balance mix of dry fruits, citrus, vanilla, spice and cloves
Finish: Long with sweetness in harmony with dry tannins from the wood
