Bushmills Challenges Drinkers To ‘Not Follow The Flock’ This St. Patrick’s Day

Bushmills Irish Whiskey, in a bit of jest for the St. Patrick’s holiday, recently filled a New York bar with a flock of sheep named after the most common “J”-names … Jim, Jack and Johnnie.

The reason for the stunt, according to a press release from Bushmills, is their current sweepstakes where those with J-names have the chance to forsake their namesake and win a free round of Bushmills whiskey.

The whiskey maker is doing so, encouraging consumers to “fight herd mentality” and opt for a Bushmills instead, the statement explained.

Bushmills, the world’s oldest licensed whiskey distillery, is offering fans 21 and over the chance to participate, and you only have to do so by going to www.forsakeyournamesake.com and filling out a form.

And even if you don’t have a “J” name? They’re still game. You don’t have to be named Jim, Johnnie, Jameson, or Jack, just fill out the form at the web site for the chance to get $10 off a round of “The Original: Bushmills.”

The $10 will go straight to a Venmo account. The sweepstakes ends March 17th.
