Crown Royal XO Aims For Being A Craft Addition

DIAGEOThe Crown Royal Canadian blended whisky brand, owned by Diageo, is considered the number one seller of its kind in the American market “by value.” Those behind it recently announced a new top shelf “craft” addition to the line up in the form of the XO offering.

Crown Royal XO is said to be a unique blend of more than 50 of its “finest whiskies” that’s finished in cognac casks from the French Limousin Forest. This results in a what’s described as “an amber/topaz whisky deliciously balanced with hints of vanilla, spice and rich dried fruit, closing with an impeccably smooth finish.”

The packaging for Crown Royal XO displays colors of gray and gold paired with a variation on the iconic bag, gray with gold embroidery accents, while the 750 ml bottle displays a smooth silhouette with gold accents. It can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail, and prices for around $50.
