WhistlePig Debuts A Bourbon Variant Of Its PiggyBack Whiskey

Rye whiskey specialist WhistlePig touts its PiggyBack Rye Whiskey as being popular among both home and professional bartenders as an easy to use whiskey for making cocktails with. Taking this mindset into another whiskey style, the brand recently debuted WhistlePig PiggyBack 100 Proof Bourbon Whiskey.

WhistlePig PiggyBack 100 Proof Bourbon Whiskey, according to those behind it, is a 100 proof expression that starts with a super-high corn mash bill that “maintains a dash of Rye as a nod to WhistlePig’s roots.” It is six years of age, having matured in char #3 barrels.

“There is no shortage of bourbon whiskeys on the market, and to be true to WhistlePig, we had to stand out by offering our fans more,” said Meghan Ireland, Whiskey Blender, in a prepared statement. “Just like our Rye, PiggyBack 100 Proof Bourbon offers bigger age, higher proof, and a bolder grain profile than most traditional American whiskeys.
