Whiskey With Wes: Lion's Tail Cocktail [VIDEO]

Leap day is a free day!  To do the things you wouldn’t normally do, like make a whiskey sour-like cocktail with lime!  The Lion’s tale is a great bourbon cocktail featuring lime and a homemade allspice dram.

So try your hand at this wonderful drink.  And don’t forget to wear blue and yellow on leap day!

The Lion’s Tail

• In a shaker tin, combine the following ingredients:
  • 1 tsp simple syrup (water and sugar mixed at a 1:1 ratio)
  • 1/2 oz Allspice Dram
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • 1/2 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 2 oz bourbon
• Fill the shaker with ice, seal it shut and shake the hell out of it!
• Double strain the drink over a large ice chunk in a rocks glass
• Garnish with the expressed oils of some orange zest and a lime wheel
• Drink up and enjoy!
