If you are a traveling bartender or spirits brand ambassador, or just somebody who likes to always be prepared to make the ultimate whiskey cocktail, having the right organizational system for your drink making tools is likely a unique creation you’ve cobbled together out of some second hand bag and God knows what on the interior to keep your gear sorted. If you seek a better approach to keeping your sanity around this, there looks to be help for you on the horizon, courtesy of two bartenders and what could well be the ultimate bartending bag.
The new B-bag, developed by Barkeeper & Co, is the brainchild of bartenders “committed to producing a truly functional, versatile, fashionable and affordable craft bartenders bag.” Though I haven’t had hands-on experience with this bag yet, I can tell you from what I’ve been looking at through their materials that it looks like it could truly do the trick if, for nothing else, to let me haul a whole bunch of whiskey somewhere for an organized tasting.
Each USA-made bag is crafted from durable water-resistant 14 oz. waxed 100% cotton duck canvas and lined with 420 denier cordura nylon. You carry it with a leather strap with shoulder pad, and it comes in a choice of three different canvas colors.
On the interior is where the real magic happens with the B-bag, courtesy of a wall of three interior pockets designed to keep your cocktail tools in order. This sits alongside a snap tight, large interior pocket to hold larger items and, in the main interior compartment, there’s a removable and adjustable insert allowing you to safely carry “up to 8 bottles, or a combination of bottles, mixing glass, shaking tins, limes, etc.”
The bag prices for $349 standalone, and should you be in need of a complete set of cocktail tools as well, you can get bag and set together for $599. To see the B-bag from a range of angles, check out the photos below.
