A recent statement from the whiskey maker noted that this whiskey is named for and celebrates the life and values of a man dedicated to friendship, justice, and learning.

John Parrott himself was the first initiate of a fraternal order of men founded in 1855. As the story goes, they bonded over shared values, spending many nights with a glass of whiskey in hand, discussing important matters of the day. In his writings, John Parrott touted that much more binds people than divides them, and that the values of friendship, justice, and learning were paramount.

“This whiskey is a tribute to John Parrott and everything he stood for,” said Michael Sawyer, SK Spirits CEO. “We created John Parrott bourbon to enhance the moments shared with those closest to us. This is a warm, friendly bourbon that is the lubricant of great conversation, a bourbon truly intended for leaving the cork out.”

The whiskey maker noted that John Parrott is a blend of Indiana and Kentucky bourbons, and it clocks in at 54% ABV. It has a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley. The whiskey took home a gold medal recently from the 2023 World Spirits Competition in San Francisco.

John Parrott bourbon is available direct to consumers in 42 states at www.skbourbon.com, and it has a suggested retail price of $185.50 per 750mL bottle. You can find it in retail in the Louisville metropolitan area and at local restaurants including Watch Hill Proper, Silver Dollar Saloon, and Louisville Thoroughbred Society.
