New Drexel Small-Batch Whiskeys Launched Out Of Detroit

Eastbank Spirits in Michigan recently announced the launch of Drexel Kintra and Drexel Dock & Castle, very small-batch whiskeys crafted in Detroit and finished in select barrels.

Drexel Kintra features a special blend of two carefully selected straight bourbon whiskeys finished in chocolate liqueur barrels to add subtle sweetness and greater complexity. Enjoy notes of caramel, chocolate, vanilla, oak, spice and nuts on the palate, the distillery said.

Drexel Dock & Castle features an exclusive blend of hand-selected straight bourbon whiskey and single malt Scotch whisky. It’s then finished in Cognac barrels, which which it is said adds greater depth and richness. It has notes of caramel, ripe fruit, vanilla, spice, peat and oak on the palate.

“After extensive experimentation we’re really excited to include these unique whiskeys in our range,” said Lance Havelka, founder and head blender, in a prepared statement. “Both showcase the extra complexity that secondary maturation adds while offering a truly special and sophisticated flavor profile.”

Drexel Kintra and Drexel Dock & Castle are available now at retailers throughout Michigan and are distributed by Imperial Beverage Co. Both whiskeys are available in 375 ml bottles, with 120 bottles per batch.

The Eastbank Spirits was born in Detroit and handcrafts what’s described as unique, innovative spirits with modern crafts enthusiasts.
