Mixed Martial Artist Dustin Poirier Debuts His Rare Stash Bourbon

Rare Stash has come out swinging with a bourbon whiskey that’s said to be a unique combination of local, natural ingredients, barrel character, and time.

Rare Stash brand owner Dustin Poirier, mixed martial arts specialist, has what many feel are his own rare qualities exemplified by his journey and his fighting spirit.

Also known as “The Diamond,” Poirier recently announced his latest business venture on Twitter, saying “What’s up man, I just want to say thank you to all my fans across the world, thank you for the love and support over the years. I’m excited to introduce you guys to my Rare Stash, check it out.”

Poirier is entering the whiskey world in the footsteps of UFC fighter Conor McGregor, who launched Proper No.12 Whiskey in 2018. McGregor has since sold his stake in the company to Proximo Spirits for more than a hundred million dollars.

Rare Stash’s new bourbon whiskeys are described by the brand as being selected for the unique and rare qualities derived from the raw and natural ingredients used to make the spirit.

Each year’s corn and grain harvest and crop is a bit different for Rare Stash, and each stave of the barrel used for aging comes from a different tree. Each has different characteristics and quality influences it imparts on the bourbon as it ages.

Each release of Rare Stash is unique, according to those behind it, as the whiskey-maker allows the natural qualities of the bourbon ingredients and the purity of the distillate to harmonize with each barrel it’s aged in during the aging process.

Rare Stash Bourbon clocks in at 91 proof, comes in a 750ml bottle, and has a suggested retail price of $100.

Distiller’s notes for Rare Stash Bourbon:

  • Palate: The initial taste experience is intense, yet balanced and smooth, followed by complex flavors that engulf and round out the mouth.
  • Finish: The finish is long lasting, with balance of flavor and soothing heat.
