Luxco’s New Lux Row Distillers Joins Bourbon Trade Group

Luxco has long been known as a non-distilling producer of bourbon in particular, most notably tied to their Ezra Brooks, Rebel Yell, David Nicholson, and Blood Oath sourced lines. The group has also been in the process, however, of building its own distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, and now it has joined the Kentucky Distillers’ Association as its 37th overall member.

Lux Row Distillers, as the new distilling side of Luxco is known, joins the bourbon trade group at the Heritage member level, meaning it has a minimum of 25,000 barrels of distilled spirits aging in Kentucky warehouses. It is said this new facility is around 70 acres in size, and includes an 18,000 square foot distillery, an 18th-century stone house, several barns, a barrel warehouse with plans for five more, a visitor center, tasting room, and event space.

“We are thrilled to be joining the KDA as a Heritage member,” said Luxco Chairman Donn Lux in a prepared statement. “We have made a large investment into our brands and the state of Kentucky with the building of Lux Row. Eric and his team at the KDA have been wonderful to work with during this evolution and we are extremely excited about our future in Kentucky.”

Plans call for Lux Row to welcome its first visitors as early as April, and it hopes to join the KDA’s Kentucky Bourbon Trail tour by summer. Luxco, even as it puts the finishing touches on the distillery, has been affiliated with the KDA since 2014 when it acquired interest in Limestone Branch Distillery, a KDA Craft-level member located in Lebanon.
