Kentucky Senator’s Third Bourbon Offering Releases This Summer

Kentucky Senator is an American bourbon brand that’s become quite popular in its short time in market, with noted bourbon author Fred Minnick, for example, mentioning the first release on his top 100 Whiskeys of 2021 and naming it the top-rated 15-year-old bourbon. It is now set to drop its third release to retail this summer.

Kentucky Senator John G. Carlisle Release, according to those behind it, is named after U.S. Senator John G. Carlisle because “he was a stabilizing force in the liquor industry and a leader of the Bourbon Democrats in Washington D.C. He was a major advocate for the Bottled-In-Bond Act of 1897, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year.”

Technically speaking, it is a sourced Kentucky bourbon that’s been aged seven years in oak. It sports a 107 proof and has a mash bill that’s 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley.

“We’re proud to bring this third release of Kentucky Senator Bourbon to the marketplace,” said brand co-manager Andre Regard in a prepared statement, “and in doing so honoring the father of the Bottled in Bond Act, Senator John G. Carlisle.”

“We are featuring the same mash bill as our second bottling, this time aged seven years,” added co-manager Damon Thayer. “As always, Kentucky Senator will be released at 107 proof. We continue our commitment to Kentucky’s fine Bourbon spirit and will continue to deliver superior taste and experience in each pour.”

With a suggested retail price of around $120, it will be available at liquor stores, bars and restaurants throughout Kentucky. It will also be available online at www.BourbonOutfitter.com and will be featured at Jack Rose Dining Saloon in Washington, D.C.

The Kentucky Senator brand, for those unfamiliar with it, originated from Crigler and Crigler in northern Kentucky. The brand was later distilled and bottled by Double Springs Distillers, Inc. in Bardstown. Today it is co-managed by Regard and Thayer.
