Four Roses Small Batch Select Bourbon Set To Hit More States

Four Roses last year released a new permanent addition to its line up in the form of Four Roses Small Batch Select, a blend of six- and seven-year-old bourbons from among 6 of the distillery’s 10 bourbon recipes. The bourbon at the time had a pretty limited release range of just a handful of states, but now that’s changing as distribution is being increased.

New markets where Small Batch Select will be available in the coming months, according to Four Roses, include: Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, Washington and Wisconsin. These will join Four Roses’ home state of Kentucky, along with New York, California, Texas and Georgia where Small Batch Select is currently available.

“I look forward to sharing this unique offering with more Bourbon drinkers across the country,” said Brent Elliott, master distiller at Four Roses, in a prepared statement. “Small Batch Select showcases some of our Bourbon recipes and flavors that aren’t as forward facing in the rest of our lineup of Single Barrel, Small Batch and Four Roses Bourbon.

“Small Batch Select is an extension of what we do at Four Roses, and what we do well. Balancing notes of candied fruit with warmth and spice, it’s enjoyable to both casual drinkers and Bourbon connoisseurs.”

The fact that Four Roses chose to add Small Batch Select as a permanent offering is a big deal, given the last time this happened was back in 2006. It is priced at between $55 and $70, on average. For the curious, the recipe mix for this bourbon is OBSV, OBSK, OBSF, OESV, OESK and OESF.
