2016 And Continuing To Tell The Whiskey Story

Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough.” – Mark Twain

These words, once spoken by the great writer Mr. Twain, pretty much sum up how we feel here at The Whiskey Wash as we enter into 2016. Simply put, there’s a whole lot more whiskey ahead to drink, write about, and report on to you, our wonderful and supportive readers.

What started for me as a hobby blog back in October of 2013 to share my love of whisk(e)y online has evolved into a full-fledged whiskey lifestyle website. Back then, I had a whopping 748 pageviews by year’s end. Now, looking back at 2015, that’s jumped to around 925,000 page views – and still climbing!

Lots of whiskey

Where the site has evolved the most for me is in the quality of the writing voice we bring to you as you read our stories and share them across the whiskey social media world every day. What was once just my single voice has now become a strong team of whiskey writers and reviewers covering this spirit from all around the nation. They collectively bring you not just news on new releases, but also compelling pieces telling the stories of people, places, and ideas driving the renaissance of whiskey today.

Backing us has been the evolution of a strong management team of co-founders, and a growing board of advisors, all united in our passion for enjoying whiskey and relating to you the myriad stories behind it. We are all, management and writers alike, ready to move even further forward with this vision as the new year unfolds.

As The Whiskey Wash stands now, we will not only continue to strive to be your best choice for whiskey news and information, but we will also begin looking at more ways to get you involved in our ever-growing community. Some of what this encompasses will remain a surprise for now, but do expect to see some fun giveaways planned, as well as some special guests throughout the year taking over our social media accounts and answering live questions.

So, grab yourself some whiskey, bookmark The Whiskey Wash, and come back often – we’ll be right here, continuing to tell the tale of this great drink that brings us all together.

Nino Marchetti,
