If you remember back to September Buffalo Trace unveiled some of the rarest bourbon ever to come to market in the form of its O.F.C. Collection. It also said at the time it would be making available the first run of these whiskeys only to charities who wanted to auction them off as fundraisers for their causes.
Buffalo Trace has now revealed who the charities are which will be getting these bottles, and there are approximately 200 in total spread across the country. All are required to hold their fundraisers by March 1, followed by reporting back to Buffalo Trace on how much was raised.
In case you don’t remember about the O.F.C. bottles, the first release is only 200 bottles total, comprising of 100 bottles from the year 1980, 50 bottles from 1982, and 50 bottles from 1983. They are all packaged in lead free crystal bottles with detailed fluting engraved into the mold, and housed in a wooden display box containing a provenance card with information noting the milestones for the vintage year of the bottle.
While Buffalo Trace has provided information on the charities and contacts for each, we’ve also provided that here as a courtesy for you should you wish to contact them for further details on how to partake in one of these auctions.
