Bespoken Launches New Whiskey Trio Created Via Its Proprietary Process

Craft whiskey maker Bespoken is set to add three new whiskeys to its portfolio.

Bespoken is known for its proprietary process that uses tailored wood finishing to develop complex flavors, resulting in sustainable whiskeys high on flavor with less impact on the environment.

The three new expressions will be a bourbon, a rye, and an American whiskey.

In a statement from Bespoken, the blender’s notes show that the new bourbon features aromas of peanut brittle, savory vanilla and black pepper. It finishes with caramel and roasted almond notes. It clocks in at 94 proof, and has a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye, 4% malt.

The rye has notes of caramel, vanilla and spice with tastes of caraway and celery that round out the sweetness. It has a peppery finish. The rye clocks in at 100 proof and has a mash bill of 95% rye, 5% malt.

Their American whiskey is distilled at a higher proof, and is lighter in color and smoother in taste. On the nose, it has aromas of butterscotch, marzipan, honey-infused mocha, and black tea. On the palate, cinnamon sugar tastes feature with a finish of cacao nib and winter spices. It comes bottled at 100 proof and has a mash bill of 99% corn, 1% malt.

Peter Iglesias, CEO of Bespoken, said in the prepared statement, “We are proud to say that our approach to sustainability has not compromised the quality of our spirits; it has only enhanced it, allowing us to create unique and complex flavor profiles.”

He explained that the brand uses hand-selected wood staves, individually toasted and charred, with no additives, to find the right balance of flavor in every bottle.

Bespoken’s investors include billionaire scientist TJ Rodgers and baseball hall-of-famer Derek Jeter. The brand’s complete portfolio includes double gold award-winning whiskeys from the San Francisco and New York World Spirits Competitions.

Bespoken recently partnered with Blue Ridge Spirits and Wine to manage sales and marketing for their portfolio. The whiskeys are currently distributed in CA, WA, FL and TX. Later this year, they will add distribution to TN, KY, GA, MI, and NY.
