The annual fall release cycle of limited edition bourbons is in full swing right now, with most major American whiskey labels putting forth their collectible bottles. For the Angel’s Envy brand, this means it is time for the Cask Strength expression, a time honored offering now going on six years.
The Angel’s Envy Cask 2018 Cask Strength bourbon, according to those behind it, is bottled at 124 proof, or 62% ABV. It is a small batch, finished whiskey that, like the flagship Angel’s Envy, sees extra maturation time in ex-port wine barrels after first having aged up to seven years in American oak.
“We started this tradition with our first Cask Strength release in 2012 and are proud of this year’s bourbon-forward release,” said Wes Henderson, Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Angel’s Envy, in a prepared statement. “Every 100 barrels or so, we find one that truly stands out. We’re always looking for those special barrels to put through our extended finishing process.”
Plans call for the 2018 bourbon to price for around $200 and be available in the following areas: AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MD, MA, MI, MN, MO, NJ, NV, NH, NY, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, WA and Washington D.C.
