13th Colony Distillery recently announced the release of its 2023 Double Oaked Bourbon. This 10-year-old bourbon, coming in at 136.8 proof and limited to just 3,216 bottles, is available in select markets, including Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, and Arkansas, as well as online through Seelbach’s and Bourbon Outfitter.

The Double Oaked Bourbon, built upon 13th Colony’s consistent bourbon mash bill, features a blend of 70% corn, 21% rye, and 9% malted barley, all locally grown and sourced whenever possible. The bourbon is aged in separate, charred oak barrels, followed by a finishing touch with toasted maple wood, resulting in a bourbon the distillery feels “delivers a robust proof punch while maintaining a luxuriously smooth palate.”

13th Colony’s Master Distiller, Graham Arthur, is a Coast Guard veteran and trained as a classical chef, graduating from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. Graham worked in notable restaurants in Atlanta and Charleston and is said to be “truly an artist of flavor.”

Official tasting notes for this bourbon indicate “notes of maple smoked bacon, cream soda, orange blossom, toffee blend with maple drizzled pancakes, dry-aged beef, peppercorn and, sea salted caramel with a very long finish.”
