WhistlePig, Brothers Osborne Collaborate On Single Barrel Rye

WhistlePig Whiskey, in collaboration with country music duo Brothers Osborne, recently launched a single barrel, limited-edition rye whiskey.

The Brothers Osborne Barrel is the second iteration in WhistlePig’s PiggyBack Legends Series. The new rye whiskey is aged in American oak barrels for six years before finishing its journey with high toast custom barrel heads.

This 100-percent rye was selected by the Brothers themselves, and it was bottled at 96.56 proof, with a balance of sweet, spice and smoke.

In a prepared statement, John and TJ Osborne said, “We’re very proud to release a new kind of single for our family to enjoy this holiday season. At its core, music is a string of notes that creates a perfect melody, and the same applies to whiskey. You want a combination of various components that complement one another, and whether it’s music or whiskey, it’s always a dynamic mix.”

The Brothers Osborne said they are such big fans of WhistlePig, they even included the whiskey in their most recent music video.

The Brothers Osborne Barrel is available for purchase at WhistlePig’s website for $49.99 per 750ml bottle. It will be sold in select stores across Texas, Tennessee and Illinois later this fall.

Approximately 100 bottles, autographed by the Brothers Osborne, will be available for pre-order for $225, in honor of Deuce & a Quarter, the Brothers’ original family band with their father. Proceeds from the sales of each bottle will benefit Rogers Behavioral Health and their foundation, Mission Possible Fund, which raises money to provide free mental health treatment to low-income patients.

“We had a blast collaborating with Brothers Osborne to bring something new to PiggyBack 100% Rye that represents their unique sound and style,” said Meghan Ireland, WhistlePig’s head blender. “High toast barrel heads bring sweet, spice and smoke notes to our bold high rye profile, and nod to what’s been called the band’s instrumental slash-and-burn style.”

In March of 2022, WhistlePig Whiskey unveiled its first PiggyBack Legends Series: Big Papi Barrel, in partnership with National Baseball Hall of Famer David Ortiz. The Big Papi Barrel marked the world’s first toasted baseball bat-finished whiskey.
