The COLA Registry, maintained by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, is an online tool distilleries can use to register for label approval of what will appear on their bottles on retail shelves. It can also provide, to the intrepid whiskey researcher, some basic information on what’s in the pipeline for consumption down the road. With that in mind, I give you the first batch of interesting labels I’ve dug up mining this trove. I don’t have much more in the way of info on these releases at this point, but it is fascinating to note some of the products we may all soon be able to enjoy in our whiskey glasses.
