This Millet Whiskey Flavored With Root Tea Is Perfect For Chilly Autumn Days

Millet whiskies are a very rare creature, as very few distillers are willing to tackle obscure grain types for bottlings. The folks at Feisty Spirits in Colorado have done just that though, not only creating a whiskey in this vein but also going one step further and flavoring it with root tea.

What’s being called American Roots whiskey with natural flavors is part of Feisty Spirits’ Feisty Nectar series, which takes a basic, smooth whiskey and infuses it with flavors from natural ingredients. The millet whiskey, on its own, has what’s described as a strong nutmeg and allspice aroma with wild flower notes. It is further flavored with root tea from a local tea house to end up with an aged in oak barrels release that “has essences of root beer and chai with a hint of anise.”

Seen as being a perfect autumn whiskey that you can enjoy next to a roaring fire, American Roots prices for around $43 and is available at the distillery’s tasting room as well as a few liquor stores around Colorado.
