New Bully Boy Old Fashioned a Whiskey Cocktail in a Bottle

Bully Boy Old FashionedBully Boy Distillers is a pioneer in the field of Massachusetts craft whiskey as the first craft distillery in Boston. Among other bottlings, it is known for its award-winning American Straight Whiskey. They have now taken this whiskey and turned it into the base of a new bottled cocktail calledthe Bully Boy Old Fashioned.

The Bully Boy Old Fashioned, according to the distillery, contains whiskey  “muddled raw sugar and just enough Angostura bitters to complement – but not overpower – the whiskey’s smooth caramel flavor and nutty finish.” The resulting mixture is bottled at 34.15% ABV and is said to be best either served two fingers in a rocks glass over one large ice cube or, for an enhanced taste, after “muddling an orange wheel and Maraschino cherry in the tumbler before pouring the cocktail.”

This bottled cocktail is  Bully Boy’s first seasonal release, and its being made available as a fall specialty to enjoy during the cold weather months. It is priced around $35 and should be on store shelves now throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

“In concept, the Old Fashioned is easy to make but we’ve found that they’re actually hard to make well,” said Dave Willis, co-founder of Bully Boy Distillers, in a statement. “It’s difficult to achieve that perfect ratio of whiskey, sugar and bitters, but that’s exactly what we’ve done with the Bully Boy Old Fashioned. By releasing a bottled version of the quintessential craft cocktail, we’re hoping to give drink enthusiasts a simple, no-fuss way to serve or enjoy a perfectly delicious Old Fashioned.”
