MLS Team Sporting Kansas City Teams With Local Distillery On Whiskey

The recent opening of the most current Major League Soccer (MLS) season saw various teams take to the field in their respective stadiums. For Sporting Kansas City they began the start of their 2020 outing on the road. Come March 7 they will be at home, and is likely at least a few fans that day will partake in a new whiskey unveiled as part of a partnership between the team and Kansas City based distillery J. Rieger & Co.

The new Rieger’s Sporting Kansas City Whiskey, according to those behind it, is a collectible bottle of the regular Rieger’s Kansas City Whiskey. This bottle has been reimagined by the partners “with design elements and motifs that fuse the past, present and future of both brands in an entirely original way.”

In addition to the bottle, the partnership also includes specialty bottlings, cocktails and events at the J. Rieger & Co. distillery, Children’s Mercy Park and other local venues. Rieger’s products will be served as well “at Children’s Mercy Park during matches and at private events in the suite levels, Wise Power Shield Club and additional concession locations at the stadium.”
