Following the announcement of their multi-year partnership in 2023, Jack Daniel’s and McLaren Racing have celebrated Lando Norris’ Miami Grand Prix victory with a specially selected single barrel and personalized cask head.
Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Select
A single barrel of Jack Daniel’s was specially selected for the McLaren team. The cask yields approximately 240 bottles at around 47% ABV, having been matured since April 2018. Sensing victory in McLaren’s future, the team at Jack Daniel’s Distillery in Lynchburg set the cask aside following the McLaren team’s visit to the plant in 2022.
Distilled from a mash bill comprising 80% corn, 8% rye, and 12% malted barley, the Tennessee Whiskey is subjected to charcoal filtering (A.K.A The Lincoln County Process) to ensure a silky smooth mouthfeel and easy-drinking nature.
Speaking about Lando Norris’ win, and the continued rise of McLaren Racing, Jack Daniel’s Global Managing Director, Mark Bacon, said: “McLaren’s pursuit of performance shines through in everything they do, and we’re proud to see the team’s hard work lead to such an exciting finish at the Miami Grand Prix.
“We wanted to congratulate the team on their performance and Lando’s first F1 win in a way that only Jack can – with a barrel of our Single Barrel Select Tennessee Whiskey perfect for celebrating this special occasion.”
McLaren & Lando Norris’ First Win
The cask head and the barrel were presented to McLaren Racing CEO, Zak Brown, following Norris’ landmark win, his first in Formula 1, on May 5th. The British-Belgian driver finished over 7 seconds ahead of reigning world champion, Max Verstappen following a timely pit stop for fresh tyres under the safety car. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc placed third, just over two seconds behind Verstappen.
The victory marked McLaren’s first Grand Prix win since Daniel Ricciardo won the Italian Grand Prix at Monza in 2021. Norris’ teammate, Oscar Piastri, won the Qatar Sprint Race in 2023.
