Harlem Standard Releases Two New American Whiskeys

Upon its decision to expand to New Jersey, New York-based Harlem Standard announced it had recently released two new whiskeys, the Harlem Standard 101-Proof 7-Yr Straight American Whiskey and Harlem Standard 93-Proof Bourbon Straight Whiskey.

Aged for seven years in Speyside barrels, Harlem Standard 101-Proof 7-Yr Straight American Whiskey (50.5% ABV) is bottled at 101 proof and is created from 95% wheat, rooted in hints of vanilla and cream but balanced by charred wood, according to official tasting notes. It is available in 50ml and 750ml bottles.

Harlem Standard 93-Proof Bourbon Straight Whiskey (46.5% ABV) is a proprietary high-rye, 4-grain blend whiskey aged 4+ years in new charred American white oak barrels. It contains mellow spice, roasted nuts, and a vanilla bean finish. It is available in 50ml, 200ml and 750ml bottles.

Inspired by what’s described as the rebellious nature of Prohibition ideologies, jazz music, and the Harlem Renaissance, Harlem Standard draws the whiskeys for its releases from Indiana, blending and bottling them in Bardstown, KY.

Harlem Standard can be found locally in New York City in venerable retailers like Sherry-Lehmann, Acker Wines, Harlem Vintage, and select locations in Nashville, Tampa, and now the greater New Jersey area. The company anticipates launching in several locations nationwide before the end of 2021.

Harlem Standard 101-Proof 7-Yr Straight American Whiskey is available for a retail price of $84.99 per 750ml bottlings, while Harlem Standard 93-Proof Bourbon Straight Whiskey is available for a retail price of $59.99 per 750ml bottlings through the Harlem Standard website.

A portion of the proceeds from every bottle of Harlem Standard whiskey benefits the Jazz Foundation of America’s COVID-19 Musicians’ Emergency Fund.
