Tasting Notes:

About:
Produced with grain whiskies from a single distillery and matured in American white oak barrels.
Appearance:
Pale gold
Nose:
Spiced, nutty oil with fresh ginger and lime leaf. Hints of Thai basil, dried mint and salted butter. Fermenting apples and just-damp walnut shells. Chopped pineapple that’s going slightly dry, and yogurt-coated banana chips. Concentrated citrus note of dried lemon peel.
Palate:
Sweeter, and light-medium in body. A dusting of wholegrain flour, with husks. Honey and butter thickly spread on slightly burnt toast. Compressed apple, hints of plum jam and dates. Very bitter but very milky coffee. Subtle vanilla pod.
Finish:
It lasts well, with notes of toasted grain, plum stone, and gentle woody spices.
Comments:
If you were looking for a grain whisky that could convince a skeptical malt drinker of their quality and depth, I’d start here.
