Review: Godawan 02 Fruit And Spice Indian Single Malt Whisky

Much like Godawan 01, Godawan 02 Fruit And Spice is a gentle, complex liquid that has a lot to say for itself.

Tasting Notes

About:

Godawan 02 Fruit And Spice was mtaured in cherry wood casks and finished in botanical-treated casks, just like Godawan 01 Rich And Rounded.
Appearance:
Burnt Orange
Nose:
Fudge, toffee, and raisins! What a decadent, sweet start.

Orange liqueur, cinnamon, lime zest, milk chocolate and tempered dark chocolate. It has the smack of high quality chocolate across the board. A touch of sea salt in this, too.
Palate:

An even softer approach than Series 01. Less of those spicy chai and bourbon notes, but some fresh fruit notes of apple and pears, but a cherry, raisin, and toffee run. In fact, it’s almost rum and raisin like.

Finish:
Oaky, gently drying, and with whispers of those milk and dark chocolate notes.
Comments:
I do prefer Godawan 01 Rich And Rounded, but this is as good for different reasons. The bourbon/coffee notes of 01 are replaced with these highland single malt notes of fudge and toffee.
