Augusta Distillery Old Route 8 Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Continuing the expansion of its portfolio, Augusta Distillery presents Old Route 8 – an 8 Year Old Single Barrel expression – the first in a lineup of four expressions that will come to market over the next few years. Distilled from a mash bill comprising 74% corn, 18% rye, and 8% malted barley, the bourbon was aged for 8 years in new American oak casks before bottling at cask strength.
The expression is named for Route 8 – the highway that bypasses the city of Augusta, Kentucky. According to the distillery website, “Kentucky’s Old Route 8 is a beautiful stretch of road that runs along the Ohio River, connecting historic river towns to larger cities and ports. It marks the original east-west route that first brought a new brand of whiskey into the country’s interior and inspired a culture that still thrives today. The bourbon that now bears its name reflects the tradition of this track and the travelers who explore it. Premium, single barrel, full cask strength, it is an exceptional 8-year bourbon intended to be enjoyed every day.”

About The Distillery
Augusta Distillery was initially founded as an independent bottling brand in 2018. However, the company has now evolved into a distiller, with a $23 million distillery being built in 2023. Located on the banks of the Ohio River, Augusta is nestled in the heart of Bourbon County – an area with a rich distilling history. It is this history and legacy that Augusta Distillery founders Lalani and Lance Bates, and Ryan and Jamie Edwards, hope to leverage, making Augusta a premier tourist destination for bourbon lovers.
The brand’s flagship expression is the Buckner’s 10 Single Barrel Bourbon. The range has since expanded to include a 13 Year Old, a 15 Year Old, and a 17 Year Old Buckner’s. The 13 Year Old expression won Best Bourbon at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
