Tasting Notes

About:

A Kentucky bourbon aged in two separate oak barrels, including finishing in a specially toasted cask. It is bottled at 109.4 proof and priced at $125.
Appearance:
There’s a nice darker amber color in this glass, reflecting moderate legs and solid viscosity.
Nose:
On contact, a very strong baking vanilla note emerges as the first aromatic, supported by dark cherry and warming oak. Other smells include elements of brown sugar, marzipan, and a hint of pleasant maple.
Palate:
The opening sip of this bourbon has a good kick of vanilla and cherry cola, along with moments of oak and a little bit of white chocolate. Beyond this, there are elements of maple candy, toasted almonds, and a hint of allspice present.
Finish:
The finish on this is clean and bright, offering a subtle sweetness that fades off after a moderate time frame.
Comments:

Kentucky Peerless Toasted Bourbon (Batch 2) is a solid American whiskey with pretty much nothing on the negative side to say about it. It drinks well and brings a great flavor profile. The price is steep, but in this case, it could be worth the price of admission.
