About:

The GlenAllachie 15 is a staple in the distillery’s line-up. Bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and natural color, it brilliantly showcases Billy Walker’s expertise in sherry-forward whisky.
Appearance:
Ruby mahogany
Nose:
Dark vanilla and peanut brittle leads, with sour rhubarb, red apples and strawberry sweets. The nose quickly evolves into those classic sherry aromas. Dates, milk chocolate pastries, and Belgian chocolate ice cream with caramel. You can also find notes of gold leaf tobacco, hoisin sauce and dusty pencil shavings in the background.
Palate:
A delicate arrival that quickly reveals the rich and oak-spiced flavours from those PX casks. Dried fruits, raspberries and cranberries, which are balanced by notes of honeyed oak, dark chocolate shavings and tiramisu. It all comes together beautifully, reminding me of sherry affogato and cigars.
Finish:
A dry and sweet finish with notes of burnt oak and black coffee, demerara sugar and sour espresso.
Comments:
The GlenAllachie personifies the classic aged sherried whisky, but it shines by balancing its layers of complexity and richness with brighter and fruiter notes. The GlenAllachie 15 dances with the idea of being both an overfaced sherry bomb and something that is altogether more balanced.
