About:

Wolfcraig, founded in 2017 by Michael and Jamie Lunn, brings three limited-edition expressions to the U.S. market starting September 2025. The brand pairs Master Blenders Richard Paterson OBE and Ian Macmillan, who together access some of Scotland’s most distinguished whiskies.

The brand draws its name from an ancient Scottish battlefield tale. According to legend, a wolf cub’s howl warned Celtic forces of an approaching Norse ambush, leading to a Celtic victory. The site became known as Wolfcraig, and the brand aims to embody that spirit of vigilance and triumph. “Joining González Byass USA is an exciting milestone for Wolfcraig,” says Richard Paterson, Master Blender of Wolfcraig. “Their expertise and proven track record in bringing exceptional brands to the U.S. provides us with a remarkable opportunity to showcase how Wolfcraig defines the premium blended Scotch category. With Ian and myself dedicated to crafting whiskies of unrivaled character, we are confident that Wolfcraig will resonate strongly with discerning American whisky enthusiasts.”

The 30 Year Old Premium Blend marks its first launch anywhere. This gold medal-winning release combines whiskies from all five Scottish regions. Maturation occurs in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and American white oak ex-bourbon barrels. Production totaled 1,472 bottles.
Appearance:
Golden straw
Nose:
Sweet cream, white cake, napoleon dessert, powdered sugar, a touch of lemon flowers, caramelizing sugars, and Fuji apples.
Palate:
Just the softest hint of smoke before white cake, black pepper pop, custard and dried citrus peel, and red apple skins.
Finish:
Extremely mellow and even across the tongue. The finish is an evolution of smoke to dessert with a crackle of sezchuan peppercorns. The finish just lingers on the tongue as everything folds into the lightest sugar and raisin.
Comments:
Perfect for a cigar! It’s light and airy with the perfect combination of sweet and body. Flavors are deep and consistent, molded together into an excellent dram that even the most seasoned scotch consumer will find fulfilling and enjoyable. Keep this one far away from the casual drinker or non-enthusiast. They’ll never stop pouring themselves full glasses of this beauty.
