Turntable Spirits, the innovative small-batch whisky blender based in Glasgow, has announced its 11th release: a Scots-Irish Blend named Collaboration Drop 02: Dingle.

The second release in its Collaboration Series sees Turntable collaborate with Dingle Distillery in Ireland to marry scotch and Irish whiskies for a limited edition blend. The launch will be celebrated with an event at Bang & Olufsen’s flagship store on Bond Street, London, on October 31st.

Collaboration 02: Dingle

Dingle Distillery is an independent Irish whiskey maker in County Kerry, Ireland. Dingle has an important history and legacy in the Irish whiskey industry, having been the first independent distillery to release a single pot still whiskey in over a century.

Turntable Spirits Collaboration 02: Dingle is a celebration of both scotch and Irish whisky-making practices, combining the spirits and maturation expertise from both countries.

Much like Compass Box, Turntable Spirits is fully committed to transparency in its blending practices. As such, the company has revealed the exact components of the blend. They are as follows:

  • 41% Dingle single pot still in Oloroso hogsheads
  • 29% Balmenach 1st fill Pedro Ximénez puncheons
  • 12% Blair Athol 1st fill rye barrels
  • 18% Loch Lomond grain 1st fill bourbon barrels

The whisky is bottled at 52% ABV and features notes of “cigar spices, chocolate raisins, marzipan, nutmeg, and citrus.”

“We’re honoured and excited to work with Dingle on this release,” says Turntable co-founder Gordon Stevenson. “Their passion for preserving Irish whiskey tradition aligns perfectly with our ethos of respecting heritage while pushing boundaries in blending.”

“This blend is a testament to the rich histories of both Irish and Scottish whiskey-making,” says Ally Stevenson, Turntable co-founder and blender. “Just as we did with our first Collaboration Drop, which combined Starward’s ex-Australian red wine cask whisky with Scotch, we’ve sought to create a flavour profile that integrates the best of two worlds.”

Collaboration Drop 02: Dingle is a limited-edition release with 1,800 bottles available in selected markets including the UK, Ireland, Germany, and the Netherlands. The whisky has a recommended retail price of £85.

Turntable Spirits’ Mission

Turntable Spirits is on a mission to advocate for transparency in whisky blending. The issue has been contentious in the past. Compass Box, one of the original transparency advocates, landed in hot water with the Scotch Whisky Association over the divulging of age statements for every component in a blend.

Turntable was not deterred, however, and continues to work with the ethos that a consumer deserves to know what is in their glass.

The company has seen great success with previous releases including Tracks 1-6, named after songs by artists such as Biffy Clyro and Blondie. In addition, the first Collaboration Drop was created in partnership with Starward Australian Whisky, which has also seen huge global success.
