The Balmoral, a Rocco Forte hotel in the heart of Edinburgh, has made its first venture into the publishing world with the release of ‘SCOTCH: The Balmoral Guide To Scotch Whisky’. The book was written by Cameron Ewen – Head Whisky Ambassador for The Balmoral’s SCOTCH whisky bar – and Moa Reynolds A.K.A. Swedish Whisky Girl – a local whisky writer.
‘SCOTCH: The Balmoral Guide To Scotch Whisky’ is available for pre-order from SCOTCH Bar and several high street retailers. The official release date is 24th October 2024, and the book has an RRP of £22 (~$28).
What Can Whisky Lovers Expect From ‘SCOTCH: The Balmoral Guide To Scotch Whisky’
Cameron Ewen and Moa Reynolds combine their scotch whisky expertise to guide readers through some of the best bottles in SCOTCH Bar’s 500-bottle collection. The book also features specially commissioned photography and maps of Scotland’s whisky regions.
Each bottle that is profiled in the book is complete with an introduction to the distillery or independent bottler, and tasting notes from Cameron Ewen.
“Passion And Knowledge For Whisky”
“My hope is that this book will serve as a guide into the world of whisky through my eyes. It is a distillation of my passion and knowledge for whisky,” says Cameron of this personal introduction to Scotland’s famous tipple. With sections on how to taste whisky, a breakdown of Scotland’s whisky regions, and the main distilleries contained within them, the book is an essential companion for both whisky novices and enthusiasts alike.
“The book is by no means an exhaustive summary of SCOTCH’s collection, or of the staggering range of whisky now available to purchase, but my selection of the most exciting bottles that readers can sample with me, should they visit The Balmoral, or alternatively secure for their own collection.”
