Garrison Brothers Distillery has unveiled its 2025 Guadalupe bourbon, a limited-edition whiskey finished in port wine barrels that will support Texas coastal preservation efforts through a special cask strength release.
Fifth Annual Whiskey Release Features Port Cask Finish
The Hye, Texas-based distillery will release approximately 8,600 bottles of its Guadalupe Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey, with the first 1,000 available at a July 12 distillery event. The 107-proof bourbon undergoes a distinctive aging process, spending four years in white American oak casks followed by two years in tawny port casks.

Garrison Brothers will offer 1,000 bottles of Guadalupe Cask Strength Single Barrel at proofs ranging from 123.9 to 129.8, priced at $219.99. The distillery will donate $50 from each cask strength bottle sold to Gulf Trust, a conservation organization focused on Texas coastal resilience.

The official tasting notes describe the bourbon as featuring berry fruit, ripe plums, strawberry butter on flaky morning biscuits, toasted coffee bean notes, chocolate, and cinnamon. Each bottle is numbered and hand-dipped in copper-colored wax.
Conservation Partnership Links Whiskey Production to Texas Waters
The partnership with Gulf Trust highlights the connection between Texas rivers and coastal health. The organization, incubated by Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, develops science-based solutions for Gulf Coast preservation.
The standard Guadalupe 2025 release carries a suggested retail price of $149.99 and will be available nationwide by late July. The expression has earned recognition in spirits competitions, with the 2024 version receiving Platinum and Spirit of the Year honors at the San Diego International Wine and Spirits Challenge.

Garrison Brothers, established in 2006 as Texas’s first legal bourbon distillery, produces all expressions from grain to glass at its Hill Country facility. The distillery uses Texas-sourced corn, soft red winter wheat, and barley in its sweet mash recipe.
The Guadalupe project began in 2015 when the distillery acquired port casks from a local winery to age four-year-old bourbon. Master Distiller Todd subsequently expanded the port cask program, leading to the current annual releases.
