SCOTCH Bar at The Balmoral Launches Women-Led Whisky Flight

SCOTCH Whisky Bar at The Balmoral hotel in Edinburgh has unveiled a new women-led whisky flight and signature cocktail, created in collaboration with Diageo luxury ambassador Stefanie Anderson. The exclusive menu is available from June 13 through September, marking the first in a planned series of partnerships with women in whisky.

Anderson worked closely with SCOTCH bar manager Ross Barr and his team to develop the lineup, which aims to spotlight diverse perspectives on Scotch whisky through flavor, storytelling and accessibility.

The menu introduces a signature serve called La Dame du Usquabae, a cocktail combining Cardhu 18 Year Old with white peach, apple, honey and citrus, topped with Champagne.

A curated flight of three drams accompanies the cocktail: The Singleton of Dufftown 18 Year Old, Dailuaine 21 Year Old “Marbled Treasures” from the 2025 Special Releases, and Talisker 25 Year Old. Official tasting notes from the brand describe the Dailuaine as “rich and sherried with notes of dried fruits and warming spice,” while the Talisker is characterized as “a refined coastal whisky balancing sea salt, citrus and soft smoke.”

“Women play such an important role in shaping whisky, but they haven’t always been front and centre in the industry,” said Barr. “This is about bringing those perspectives forward in a way that feels natural, enjoyable and genuinely enhances how our guests experience whisky here in SCOTCH.”

Anderson added: “It’s been a pleasure working with Ross and the SCOTCH team on something that not only elevates the guest experience but brings a fresh perspective to the bar in a lasting and genuine way. The aim was to select whiskies that really speak through flavour and texture, and to show just how broad and exciting Scotch can be, especially for those who are whisky-curious or who haven’t yet found their way in, whether through intimidation or simply not knowing where to start.”

The flight is priced at £100, with the cocktail available from £30. SCOTCH Whisky Bar houses over 500 bottles spanning Scotland’s whisky regions.

This collaboration signals a broader strategic direction for the venue. The bar plans to continue the series beyond September with additional partnerships featuring other expert women in whisky, aiming to deepen expertise behind the bar and continually evolve the guest experience.

Guests can walk in or book in advance via email. The bar is open Sunday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and Friday through Saturday from 3 p.m. to midnight.
