Michigan’s Round Barn Distillery has expanded its portfolio with four new flavored whiskeys, capitalizing on a market segment that has grown 34% over the past four years.

The Baroda-based distillery announced its Harvest Infusion Series this week, introducing Apple, Cinnamon, Vanilla, and Peach whiskeys to meet rising consumer demand for flavored spirits.

Industry data shows flavored whiskeys accounted for 24% of total whiskey volume in 2023, reflecting shifting consumer tastes toward accessible premium spirits.

Round Barn Distillery Targets Growing Flavored Whiskey Market

Each expression in the series offers distinct flavor profiles designed for both neat sipping and cocktail mixing. The Vanilla Whiskey features cream undertones with brown sugar sweetness and oak notes. Apple Whiskey combines crisp green apple with honey and traditional whiskey character. Peach Whiskey delivers ripe fruit flavors with candied notes and spice, while Cinnamon Whiskey opens sweet before transitioning to bold spice.

The distillery positions these releases as premium yet approachable options for diverse consumer preferences.

“These four new whiskeys reflect our mission to innovate while staying true to our roots,” said Matt Moersch, CEO of Round Barn Winery, Distillery and Brewery. “We’re excited to offer flavors that appeal to wider audiences and bring a taste of Michigan’s orchard and orchard-inspired creativity to every bottle.”

Round Barn Distillery Prices New Whiskeys at Premium Point

The four whiskeys retail at $34 per bottle across all Round Barn locations. Distribution will expand to retailers throughout Northwest Indiana, Southwest Michigan, and Illinois in the coming weeks.

Round Barn operates as a combined winery, distillery, and brewery in Michigan’s Baroda region. The company focuses on small-batch production using Michigan-sourced ingredients when possible.

The Harvest Infusion Series launch follows broader industry trends toward flavor innovation in American whiskey. Major distilleries have increasingly invested in flavored expressions to attract new consumers and expand consumption occasions beyond traditional neat pours.

Round Barn suggests multiple serving options for each whiskey. The company recommends the Apple Whiskey for fall cocktails and punches, positions the Peach Whiskey for summer spritzes, and suggests combining the Cinnamon and Apple expressions for seasonal drinks. The Vanilla Whiskey works in classic cocktails requiring vanilla notes.
