The OurWhisky Foundation has opened applications for the 2026 edition of its Atonia Programme, a six-month professional development course for women and non-binary individuals in the whisky industry. The programme, which runs from June to November 2026, offers 25 places to participants based in Great Britain and Ireland seeking career advancement in whisky.

Applications are now being accepted through March 6, 2026, for the subsidised cost of £200+VAT, with scholarships available for those facing financial hardship.

The programme provides personalised mentorship, virtual workshops, and networking sessions designed to elevate careers and contribute to industry equity.

Since launching in 2022, the Atonia Programme has guided over 250 women and non-binary individuals globally.

Participants experience an average 53% increase in confidence, while 30% earn promotions or new roles within 12 months of starting.

“As the OurWhisky Foundation enters its fifth year of operation, we couldn’t be more excited to welcome a further 25 women+ in whisky into our highly respected and globally-renowned Atonia Programme,” said Becky Paskin, founder of the OurWhisky Foundation.

The programme now receives seven times more applications than available places, reflecting growing demand for professional development opportunities among women in spirits.

“Every year, we’re beyond proud to witness the evolution of our graduates’ confidence, motivation and inspirational workplace achievements, as they form a tightknit, supportive community that transcends borders and categories,” Paskin added.

Victoria Charlton, luxury brand ambassador at Diageo and 2025 Atonia’s Acorn, described her experience: “The Atonia Programme truly empowers you to take control of your own path. It’s helped me find my voice and clarity around my goals.”

The programme culminates in a graduation ceremony in Edinburgh in January, where participants receive an Atonia pin and certificate.

“This programme gave me the confidence and tools to step forward without apology. It’s genuinely transformative, both personally and professionally,” Charlton said.

Applications are also open for experienced industry professionals to serve as mentors, regardless of gender or location, provided they have at least five years of expertise in their field.
