Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers has unveiled a new limited edition expression that showcases sherry cask maturation. The Old Perth Bodega Cask Matured Blended Malt arrives with just 1,200 bottles available globally.
Old Perth Bodega Combines Three Sherry Cask Types
The new release brings together single malts matured in Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, and rare Palo Cortado sherry casks. These whiskies are then married with liquid from Old Perth’s 70-year-old solera vats. Bottled at 52.4% ABV, the expression will retail for £52 when it launches in the UK on September 4.
“This release is a true celebration of Old Perth’s DNA – a whisky deeply rooted in tradition, shaped by exceptional casks, and bottled with our signature bold yet balanced style,” said Graeme Mackeddie, head of production at Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers. “It is crafted for whisky lovers who appreciate the complexity and skill of vatting together big, bold, sherry matured malts.”
The official tasting notes describe aromas of spiced oak, bright orange zest, rich treacle, and dark fruits on the nose. The palate offers silky sweetness and refined nuttiness, while the finish delivers long-lasting notes of smooth milk chocolate.

Following its UK debut, the expression will expand to select international territories through specialist retailers. The limited production run reflects the brand’s strategy of creating small-batch releases that highlight its sherry maturation expertise.
The solera system used in creating this whisky represents a traditional Spanish aging method rarely employed in scotch whisky production. Old Perth maintains these historic vats as part of its production process, adding layers of aged whisky to newer expressions.
