Independent producer Cooper Spirits Co. has debuted a new 25-Year-Old Straight Rye Whiskey under its Lock Stock & Barrel brand. The release is limited to 250 bottles and is presented as the oldest rye whiskey currently available on the market.

Distilled in 1999, the whiskey is drawn from barrels personally selected by the company’s late founder, Rob Cooper, from the rickhouses of Alberta Distillers.
The new expression recently received a Double Gold medal at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. This award completes the portfolio’s run of Double Gold honors for every aged expression from 13 years through to 25 years.

The release taps into the growing consumer and collector demand for ultra-premium and highly-aged North American whiskeys, particularly within the rye category, which has seen a significant resurgence over the past decade.
Bottled at 111 proof (55.5% ABV), the Lock Stock & Barrel 25-Year-Old Straight Rye Whiskey has a suggested retail price of US$999.99.
According to the official notes from the brand, the whiskey opens with aromas of warm spice, toffee, and caramelized banana. The palate offers “luxurious viscosity” with notes of treacle, toffee, cocoa, cinnamon, nutmeg, black tea, and dried cherry.
The finish is described as “extraordinarily long,” with layers of oak, slight smoke, and a rye-spice dry-down.
The company noted the expression represents whiskey produced under historical conditions, offering a level of maturity rarely seen in rye.
Lock Stock & Barrel was founded in 2013 by Rob Cooper, a third-generation distiller. The brand is part of the wider Cooper Spirits Co. portfolio, which also includes the St-Germain elderflower liqueur and the Slow & Low line of canned cocktails.
